Here in Kentucky it's very profuse and no one knows what it is.. I found out today, on the internet.. I moved this spring leaving my yard and surrounding fields full of red shiso.. My new yard is full of what I now know is green shiso.. I can't wait to try it out..Mrhycannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11421151388192584041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-296991307973097297.post-91795622527843653222011-07-22T12:42:19.771-07:002011-07-22T12:42:19.771-07:00ooh- that does sound amazing-so many of my favorit...ooh- that does sound amazing-so many of my favorite notes.

LavanyaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-296991307973097297.post-34821464374353124542011-07-22T03:45:48.506-07:002011-07-22T03:45:48.506-07:00Hi Lavanya,

You should see how many typos I have before I edit. (And I rarely edit before I publish...blush.)

The shiso essential oil was too pricey for soap, although I keep wondering if a shiso infusion would hold up after soapmaking. But I might offer the perfume on Etsy after I make another batch. I didn't make much to begin with and sold almost all of it locally. It has lots of woods--hinoki, cedars, sandalwood, jasmine sambac and grandiflorum, yes some rose, a green thread of galbanum and balsam fir, some dark patchouli, some clove.Olive and Oudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03175302190354637597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-296991307973097297.post-69379655915536302652011-07-21T22:15:23.268-07:002011-07-21T22:15:23.268-07:00I meant how beautifully..(aargh typos)

I was worried it might grow only in Japan. I say worried because I fear the supply of Japanese essential oils (like hinoki, another favorite) will be limited after Fukushima.

If you don't want to grow shiso, you might be able to find some in an Asian market.Olive and Oudhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03175302190354637597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-296991307973097297.post-24191543453094818102011-07-19T16:33:57.282-07:002011-07-19T16:33:57.282-07:00Yum!
